In April 2026, Old Stoic Charles will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for the Stars Appeal, supporting Salisbury District Hospital. His motivation is personal: in 2024, his young son, Cuthbert (“Cutty”), suffered a serious burn accident and underwent multiple operations and weeks in hospital.
The Stars Appeal played a crucial role in supporting the family through specialist equipment, parent accommodation, play and sensory resources, and psychological support — all of which made an enormous difference during Cutty’s recovery.
Charles is aiming to raise £2,000 to help the Stars Appeal continue providing life‑changing support for children and families.
