The Old Stoic community gathered for a wonderfully vibrant evening at Champagne Charlies in Charing Cross on Thursday 12 March, where we held our first OS Corkscrew Society event of the year. With a fantastic mix of Old Stoics spanning a wide range of generations, the atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of shared curiosity about the world of wine.
Guests were treated to an engaging and insightful tasting led by a truly knowledgeable and entertaining wine expert, whose passion for the craft impressed everyone present. From the stories behind each bottle to the nuances of tasting and pairing, the session struck the perfect balance between education and enjoyment. Even our most seasoned wine enthusiasts admitted they learned something new.
The evening was full of laughter, clinking glasses, and conversations that stretched well into the night—exactly the spirit we hoped to capture as we kick‑start a whole new series of Corkscrew Society events. The success of this inaugural gathering has set the tone beautifully, and we’re already excited for what’s to come.
A huge thank‑you to all the Old Stoics who joined us and helped make the night so memorable. Here’s to many more delicious discoveries and shared moments ahead!
